In Loving Memory of Jesse Owen Younker

Today (Oct 6, 2008), Toni and I laid you to rest at a beautiful spot along the Spray River in Banff, Canada. I know you would have loved the site and it has been too long waiting for this day. Rest in peace son. I know you were watching over us today and always. Love MOM

Jesse and Niki

It has been 3 long years since we lost our beloved son, brother and friend.

It feels like forever since our last hug and the last time I heard your voice. I feel you with me when I need you the most.

This time of year is especially hard for all of us. Jesse would not want us to be sad but he would be making jokes to cheer us up. Some days are so hard to go on, but feel happy that one day we will be with him again. I truly believe that in my soul.

Thank you everyone for continuing to visit this site, it makes me feel good that he is not forgotten but lives on in our memories and hearts.

Until we meet again, my beloved son, until we are a family again.

There's a man (Jesse) never got to know, the man he was growing up to be. He's a good-looking clear-eyed fella... about (35). I can see him. He's the type of guy men want to be around, because he has integrity, you know ? He has character. You can't fake that. And he's a guy women want to be around, too. Because there's tenderness in him... respect... and loyalty, and courage. And women respond to that. Makes him a terrific husband, this guy. I see him as a father. That's where he really shines. See, when he looks in his kid's eyes and that kid knows that his dad really, really sees him... he sees who he is. Then that child knows that he is an amazing person. He's quite a guy... that I'll never get to meet. I wish I had.

Did you hear about the rose that grew from a crack in the concrete?

Provin nature's laws wrong it learned how 2 walk without havin feet

Funny it seems but, by keepin its dreams

it, learned 2 breathe FRESH air

Long live the rose that grew from concrete

when no one else even cared

I want to personally thank Michael for being a "guardian angel" in our time of need and checking in with us every day. Words alone can not describe how much we appreciate you and how proud Jesse would have been in you for standing up and taking charge after he passed.
I also want to thank Nick for taking such good care of Niki. Jesse would have approved.
Thanks also go out to Mary and Ted who kept their heads about them and helped us through our first weeks after Jesse passed.
footnote:
Friends and family, it seems, come and go, I wish people would remember what is most important in life...friends and family no matter what busy things we have going on in our lives- Life the way we know it to be could all be taken away in a mere moment and change things forever. Don't forget what is most important in life.
